Kate Winslet will be competing against herself at this year's Baftas
after being nominated twice in the Best Actress Award.
The stunning star was put forward for both her role in 'Finding Neverland',
in which she starred opposite Johnny Depp, and her performance in
'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' when the shortlist for the
awards was announced yesterday (17.01.05).
Winslet faces stiff competition in the category from Charlize Theron,
who was nominated for her performance in 'Monster' and Ziyi Zhang
for her role in martial arts epic 'House of Flying Daggers'.
Theron won an Oscar last year for her depiction of real-life serial
killer Aileen Wuornos in the harrowing movie, but because the film
was not released in the UK until April 2004, the 27-year-old beauty
was not eligible to be nominated.

However, it is Martin Scorsese's latest blockbuster 'The Aviator'
- based on the life of billionaire film producer Howard Hughes - that
looks set to clean up at this year's awards, after receiving an incredible
14 nominations.
The nominations include Best Leading Actor, for Leonardo DiCaprio,
Best Film and Achievement in Direction, for Scorsese himself.
The winners will be announced at a lavish ceremony, hosted by actor
and writer Stephen Fry, in London on February 12, and are decided
by members of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
