Jamie Foxx horror in coffin hell

Jamie Foxx says he hyper-ventilated when he was made 'blind' for his new movie - because he felt he was "shut in a coffin".

The actor, who won a Golden Globe for his performance as legendary blind singer Ray Charles in critically-acclaimed movie 'Ray', had to wear eye-closing prosthetics for 14 hours at a time and says he panicked when they were put on.

He said in an interview with Britain's Sunday Times Culture magazine: "Being blind was like this abyss.
I hyperventilated, I was nervous, I panicked, I felt like I was being shut in a coffin."

Jamie recently told of his horrifying ordeal when fellow stars forgot he had been made 'blind'.

The Hollywood heartthrob said he was often left helpless on set once filming had finished because his co-stars forgot he couldn't see.

He revealed: "Oh man, I freaked out. They left me on the set sometimes because they forgot I had prosthetics on my eyes.

"It was awful. But it was so necessary because Ray Charles never got to cheat."
